The following incident (s) occurred Thursday, April 7, 2011:
At 4:38 AM, Deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch on STH 11, east of High School Road, Town of Sylvester. David Barragan Iturbide, 17, of Beloit, was westbound on STH 11 when he stated an eastbound vehicle came into his lane. Iturbide made an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision and slid into the ditch. Iturbide and his passengers were not injured and seatbelts were used. Iturbide's vehicle was towed from the ditch with no damage. Iturbide was cited for Operating While Suspended and Operating a Motor Vehicle With No Insurance. He was released pending court.
At 5:49 AM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash with no injuries on CTH F, at CTH OK, in Decatur Township. Ryan W. Zurfluh, 37, Albany, was southbound on CTH F when he failed to negotiate a curve. Zurfluh struck the highway sign for CTH F/OK, continued south through the median and struck the embankment. The vehicle sustained damage to the windshield and was towed from the scene. Zurfluh was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. This vehicle is not equipped with an airbag. Zurfluh was cited for Inattentive Driving and was released pending court.
